Heat Recovery Ventilation

Maximise Efficiency By Recovering Heat That Could Be Lost!

Heat Recovery Ventilation

Good for your pocket and good for the environment.
Heat Recovery is the technology of the future!

Your Home Needs To Breathe!

A Heat Recovery System is a complete system that optimally combines ventilation and heat recovery. The result is an effective ventilation concept that provides a healthy indoor climate with maximum comfort, without compromising environmental standards. Modern houses are extremely well insulated, and peculiar as it may sound, this is often a problem. The downside of insulation is air-tightness, which in effect chokes your house by reducing the natural airflow. The optimum solution to this problem is a heat recovery ventilation system.

A healthy indoor climate and fresh air are important for your well-being. They reduce the risk of problems caused by humidity, dust, fungus, allergy etc... You can solve the problem by opening the windows and letting all the heat flow out of your property. Or, you can let heat a recovery air system provide you and your house with fresh air whenever you need it, while you recover and re-use the heat. A Heat a Recovery System can help you re-use heat from your house, thus saving energy and cost, whilst also catering for your well-being. A well-designed ventilation system is energy efficient, quiet, and also aesthetically pleasing.

How does it work?

A Heat Recovery System utilises heat from e.g. kitchens and bathrooms to heat intake air to a comfortable temperature. This provides both air renewal and a healthy indoor climate. The heart of the system is the heat exchange unit which comprises of two separate, isolated air circuits. One is connected to the fresh-air intake and the other is connected to the exhaust system which carries heat and humidity from e.g. kitchens, bathrooms, etc....
When the exhaust air reaches the heat exchanger, the heat is transferred to the fresh intake air via a number of thermally-conductive elements. A Heat Recovery System recycles the energy contained in the exhaust air, thus dramatically reducing energy costs and the environmental footprint compared to natural ventilation.

For New builds and for Renovations

A Heat Recovery System is the system of choice, not only when planning new buildings, but also for installing in existing dwellings.

Comfort Around the Clock/ Never-ending Comfort

A Heat Recovery System ensures optimum indoor climate both day and night, all year long.

  • Should you need an extra breath of fresh air, e.g. when cooking, partying, or exercising a Heat Recovery System offers the efficient alternative to opening windows and doors. Simply activate the Boost function and this lets the systems fans operate at maximum speed for a pre-set period of time, providing you with loads of fresh air without adversely affecting the indoor climate. You'll be delighted by the swift and efficient re-establishing of optimum indoor climate.

  • The system offers the so-called "Summer By-Pass" mode. Here the exhaust air does not pass the heat exchanger, which means that the intake air enters the room at outdoor temperature. This mode can also be combined with the Boost mode, - a particularly useful feature if you want a breath of fresh, cool air in your house, e.g. after a party.

  • The Cooling option utilises the cool night air to gently cool down the house - though never cooler than 18˚C. A Heat Recovery System checks the outdoor temperature twice a day, and when the average daytime temperature reaches plus 20˚C, the Free Cool function is automatically activated.

Want more benefits??

You can add a geothermal Pre Heater unit and in this way utilize the solar energy stored in the ground surrounding your house. The Pre Heater unit comprises a closed circuit of pipes buried in the ground outside the house. The pipes contain a liquid with a very low freezing point which will be heated to the all year ground temperature of approx. 6 to 8ºC. The liquid is then pumped into an evaporator which exchanges the 6 to 8ºC to the intake air of the Heat Recovery System. In the summer the cool liquid can be used to lower the intake air temperature to below outdoor temperatures, providing cool air on warm days. In the winter the temperature of the liquid will be above outdoor temperatures which enable you to preheat the intake air and reduce heating costs. This feature also helps to prevent the heat exchanger from freezing. All features make a lot of sense if you want to use your an Air System for air heating in an Ultra-Low Energy House.

HEAT RECOVERY BENEFITS

  • Heat Recovery Systems save you money on your energy bills by recovering the heat energy passing through it that would normally be lost through open windows, wall vents, etc.

  • Savings of up to 60% of your heating coasts.

  • Reduces the temperature of the outside air entering the house.

  • Energy efficient way of cooling with environmental care.

  • Raises the temperature of the outside air entering the house.

  • Takes advantage of indirect solar heating in the ground.

  • Heat Recovery Systems are very quiet in operation and there is no need for noisy extractor fans.

  • Heat Recovery Systems help to control condensation within the home or commercial building and reduce humidity, fungal growth and harmful bacteria.

  • Heat Recovery Systems are ideal for asthmatics or anybody suffering from allergies or respiratory problems since the incoming air is filtered through pollen filters. Indeed, whether you have allergies or not there are huge benefits to your health by breathing in fresh air.
